Phnom Penh, Cambodia
A major step toward sustainable water management was taken this week in Phnom Penh, where industry leaders, engineers, and policymakers gathered for a full-day technical workshop focused on “Improving Efficiency and Decreasing Water Loss in Potable Water Distribution with Innovative Products and Solutions”.
Held at Himawari Hotel Apartments, the workshop was co-hosted by Molecor SEA, Hawle, and BEE Constructions, and featured the presence of H.E. EK Sonn Chan along with ministry delegates from the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology & Innovation (MISTI), who officially opened the event.
The workshop spotlighted the urgent challenge of Non-Revenue Water (NRW) — water that is produced but lost before reaching consumers — and explored cutting-edge approaches to improve network efficiency across Cambodia's water sector with the help of TOM® PVC-O pipes.
The event served as a crucial platform for collaboration among public and private sector stakeholders committed to addressing Cambodia’s growing water management challenges.
Highlights Included:
- Expert sessions on advanced technologies and operational strategies
- Inspiring presentation by Walter Philip Pattynama, representing Molecor SEA and Stefanie Schmid from Hawle.
- Interactive Roundtable Discussion: “Tackling the Non-Revenue Water Challenge Through the Use of Innovative Products” — an open forum for experience sharing and collaborative problem-solving
- Live demonstrations of smart water products such as PVC-O pipes & fittings, Hawle valves and fittings.
As water systems across Southeast Asia face increasing pressure from urbanization and climate change, the workshop marked a hopeful and proactive step toward building more resilient infrastructure.
